vivo X300 Ultra smartphone with 400mm Zeiss lens for mobile photography

At the MWC 2026 exhibition, vivo unveiled its flagship smartphone, the vivo X300 Ultra, for the first time, focusing on professional-level mobile photography and videography. The device targets content creators and offers not only an advanced camera system but also a full ecosystem of accessories.

The standout feature is a Zeiss telephoto lens with an equivalent focal length of 400mm. According to the company, it provides 17x optical zoom, and with sensor cropping, the zoom range extends to 800mm (approximately 30x) with minimal loss of detail. This makes the smartphone particularly appealing for shooting concerts, sports events, and wildlife.

The circular camera module remains, but the internals have been upgraded significantly. Inside, there are two 200MP sensors: the main Sony LYT-901 camera with a 1/1.12-inch format and 35mm equivalent, and a periscope telephoto Samsung HPB camera at 85mm with Zeiss APO certification. The system is complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide Sony LYT-828 camera, a multi-spectral sensor for accurate color reproduction, and a 50MP front camera with autofocus.

vivo has also introduced a videography accessory kit, including a detachable grip, active cooling, and external lighting. Initial reviewer impressions note that stabilization has improved noticeably, even at extreme focal lengths, and the design supports extended shooting sessions.

The smartphone features a 6.82-inch flat 2K BOE display with LTPO technology and slim bezels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, with a battery of around 7000mAh supporting 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. The physical Action button appears to have been removed.

Separately, vivo confirmed a global release for the Ultra version—unlike previous generations, this model will be available outside China. Sales are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
