Motorola has officially launched its first foldable smartphone in the Fold format—the Razr Fold. Positioned as an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and OPPO Find N5, the new device enters the premium segment with a price tag of €1,999.
While the brand previously focused on flip phones, Motorola is now fully entering the large foldable device category. The Razr Fold features an 8.1-inch internal screen and a 6.6-inch external display, both protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Its thickness measures 4.6 mm when unfolded and 9.9 mm when folded. This isn't a record for 2026, but the compromise is justified by a 6,000 mAh battery, which is larger than those of its competitors.
The smartphone is equipped with a main camera system that includes three 50 MP sensors: a primary module with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, a periscope lens with 3x zoom, and an ultrawide camera, along with a 20 MP front-facing camera. Inside, it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This processor is slightly less advanced than the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, but in terms of performance, it rivals top-tier chips from the previous generation.
Other specifications of the Moto Razr Fold include 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of internal storage, support for 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, compatibility with the Moto Pen Ultra stylus, and seven years of Android updates. The smartphone will be available in three colors: Pantone Blackened Blue, Pantone Lily White, and an upcoming FIFA World Cup 26 collection. Pre-orders are already open.
