Nubia is planning to bring its foldable smartphone, the Nubia Fold, to the global market. After its release in Japan, the model was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), with an international debut expected later this year.
According to insider Roland Quandt from WinFuture, global sales could start as early as December. The device's key feature will be an aggressive pricing strategy, with an estimated cost of around 1,000 euros. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 in Europe starts at 2,099 euros.
The Nubia Fold marks the brand's first book-style foldable smartphone following the success of its Flip line. In Japan, the device has been on sale for several months, so its specifications are well-documented.
It features an 8-inch main AMOLED display and a 6.5-inch external screen. Performance is handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The Japanese version came with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Other specs include a 6,560 mAh battery, 55W wired charging, a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle module, a 5 MP macro lens, and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button.
If the claimed price holds, the Nubia Fold could become the most affordable foldable smartphone in the Fold form factor on the global market, significantly boosting competition in the premium segment.
