Alleged CAD renders of Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone have surfaced online, with rumors suggesting the company could unveil the device later this year. Insider Sonny Dixon shared the images, revealing detailed views of both the folded and unfolded configurations.
Based on the files, the iPhone Fold appears to feature a prominent camera bump similar to the iPhone Air, but with two modules instead of one. The chassis has an unusual shape: two sides are rounded while the other two are straighter around the hinge area. This design choice likely relates to the folding mechanism's requirements.
The renders also show the front-facing camera positioned in the top left corner of the inner display. Separate views highlight the device's side edges and the external screen that would be used when folded. This aligns with earlier rumors about a fully functional secondary display on the exterior.
The timing of these CAD file leaks seems deliberate—such materials typically circulate several months before new iPhone announcements. If authentic, these images suggest Apple is preparing a device with recognizable yet significantly updated styling for its first foldable smartphone.
