Apple is gradually revealing the capabilities of the new version of Siri. Beta testers of iOS 26.4 are getting close to trying out the updated voice assistant, though the full Personal Siri feature has been delayed and will only arrive with iOS 26.5. The new assistant will go beyond just answering questions, analyzing messages, calls, calendars, and email, recognizing on-screen data, and performing multi-step tasks within apps.
For example, users will be able to ask Siri to add contact details from a message to a contact card, process a photo, and immediately send it to a friend—all without leaving the current app. More complex actions can be offloaded to Gemini, allowing Siri to function as a full-fledged AI assistant. This approach promises to make interacting with the iPhone even more intuitive and personalized.
Rumors suggest that in later iOS versions, Siri will evolve into a full-fledged chatbot capable of holding conversations and providing detailed answers to any questions. This would bring the assistant closer to the level of digital helpers on Android and enable Apple to compete with modern AI models like Gemini, which boasts a trillion parameters.
Apple plans to release the stable version of iOS 26.4 by the end of March, while the beta of iOS 26.5 is already available to testing program participants. To join the beta testing, users simply need to sign up for Apple's beta program and select the corresponding update version in their device settings.
Experts believe the new Siri could mark a significant leap forward for the iPhone. The voice assistant is set to become not only smarter but also much more useful for everyday tasks, from handling apps to fully engaging with on-device information. This transforms Siri from a standard assistant into a personal digital helper that can genuinely save users time.
