Sonos has launched two new audio systems: the portable Sonos Play and the Era 100 SL model, both expanding multi-room audio capabilities. These devices integrate seamlessly into the Sonos ecosystem, allowing users to create speaker groups for synchronized music playback across multiple rooms and connect easily with other Sonos products.
The Sonos Play is designed for both home and on-the-go use. It features Wi-Fi for grouping speakers, supports stereo pairing, and comes with a charging base for constant connection to your home audio setup. A removable carrying loop makes it portable, while the built-in battery offers up to 24 hours of playback, smartphone charging support, and IP67 water and dust resistance.
This speaker also includes Bluetooth grouping, enabling synchronization of up to three additional speakers without Wi-Fi. Trueplay automatic tuning adjusts the sound to your environment, and control is available through voice services, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and the Sonos app.
The Sonos Era 100 SL is a microphone-free version of the Era 100, aimed at entry-level users. It delivers immersive sound and can operate independently, in a stereo pair, or as part of a multi-room system, including home theater setups.
Both speakers support over 100 streaming services and playback via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Pricing is set at $299 for the Sonos Play and $189 for the Era 100 SL. Pre-orders began on March 10, 2026, with sales starting on March 31, 2026.
