Dreame has made a surprising entry into the smartphone market, expanding its lineup to include smart rings, action cameras, and even electric vehicles. The company's new smartphones stand out with their design and functionality, ranging from luxurious models with precious inlays to devices featuring a detachable camera equipped with a 1-inch sensor. Dreame aims to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to deliver a unique user experience.
The series with detachable cameras comes with a module that includes a 1-inch sensor and Wi-Fi for remote operation. This wireless module allows for flexible framing and the ability to capture various shots using just the phone. This approach sets it apart from previous attempts at removable cameras by offering full autonomy and mobility.
For luxury enthusiasts, Dreame has prepared a separate series featuring gold inlays and precious stones. Each smartphone is assembled by hand using traditional methods. The price of these devices ranges from 70,000 to 100,000 yuan, which is approximately 10,000 to 15,000 US dollars, depending on the materials and level of handcrafting.
Some models showcase unusual design choices: one smartphone features a clock on the back panel, reminiscent of Swiss luxury brands like Ulysse Nardin. This is just one of many design options offered by the company to emphasize the uniqueness and exclusivity of its devices.
Additionally, Dreame has developed its own AI chip, the Chixiao 01, which will be used in both the luxury series and the models with detachable cameras. The chip delivers up to 200 TOPS of computational power, doubling the performance of the Snapdragon X2 Elite (80 TOPS), and opens up new possibilities for on-device data processing and AI features.
