Honor X80 GT to feature record 13,080 mAh battery for mass market

Honor is preparing to launch a new mid-range smartphone that could set an absolute record for battery capacity among mass-market models. Rumors suggest the Honor X80 GT will feature a 13,080 mAh battery—a figure that significantly surpasses flagship devices from Apple and Samsung.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max comes with a 4,823 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra has 5,000 mAh. Even combined, their total capacity falls short of the X80 GT's rumored battery. This isn't a rugged "brick" like the Unihertz Tank 3 Pro with its 23,800 mAh, but rather a mainstream device aimed at the mass market.

Honor has already shown ambitions in this area: recent models like the Honor Win and Honor Power 2 received batteries of 10,080 mAh and 10,000 mAh respectively. Alongside the X80 GT, a standard version without the GT suffix is expected to launch with a 10,000 mAh battery—a notable step up from its predecessor's 8,300 mAh.

While other major manufacturers are only approaching the 5,000–6,000 mAh threshold, Chinese brands continue to experiment with extreme values. Reports indicate Samsung is testing batteries of 12,000 mAh and 18,000 mAh, whereas Apple's maximum, according to insiders, is around 5,500 mAh for a future iPhone Fold. The Honor X80 GT is expected to debut this summer, close to the anniversary of the previous generation's release.
