Vivo has officially confirmed that its X500 series will be the first device to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chipset. This gives the manufacturer an exclusive launch with one of the year's most ambitious mobile processors.
The lineup will include three versions: the base vivo X500, plus models with more advanced chips—the Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600 ProMax. The standard chip is built on a 3-nanometer process, which already matches modern Android flagship standards. The Pro version goes even further, utilizing a 2-nanometer process that places it at the forefront of mobile chip production.
Moving from 3nm to 2nm isn't just a marketing move. The finer process translates to better energy efficiency and lower heat generation, a critical advantage for slim flagship smartphones. While the ProMax variant's specifications haven't been officially revealed yet, it's expected to be the most powerful option in the series. For MediaTek, this represents another step in its competition with Qualcomm in the premium segment, where the company has been actively closing the gap in recent years. For vivo, it's a chance to be first to market with the latest architecture, strengthening the brand's position in the high-end segment.
More details about the vivo X500 and the Dimensity 9600 series are expected to emerge closer to the official announcement. It's already clear that the focus is on maximum technological advancement and leadership in mobile chips.
