Several months remain until the announcement of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, but leaks continue to surface, and the latest information is unlikely to please fans of the series. According to fresh reports, Samsung does not plan to increase the battery capacity in the next generation of its foldable flagship.
Sources indicate the smartphone will feature two batteries with the designations EB-BF776 and EB-BF777. Their nominal capacities will be 1,150 mAh and 3,024 mAh. Combined, this yields a typical capacity of around 4,174 mAh—effectively the same figure as the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The individual cells differ from last year's model, suggesting Samsung has made a deliberate decision to maintain the previous level of battery life.
If the leaks are confirmed, the Z Flip 8 will represent another evolutionary update. It was previously reported that the camera setup will see no major changes—expect a combination of a 50 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide module, with the front camera retaining its 10 MP resolution. The 6.9-inch flexible internal display and 4.1-inch external screen are also likely to remain unchanged.
The main innovation could be the switch to the in-house Exynos 2600 processor, built on a 2nm process. However, doubts remain about whether it can compete with flagship Snapdragon solutions in terms of performance. Otherwise, minimal changes are anticipated: 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB and 512 GB storage options, the same charging speed, and possibly a slightly thinner and lighter body weighing around 180 grams.
The presentation of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to take place in July. The price, according to rumors, will stay at the level of the previous generation—around $1,099 for the 256 GB version and approximately $1,219 for the 512 GB variant.
