Samsung Galaxy XR mixed-reality headset nears release after Bluetooth certification

Samsung is taking another step toward releasing its mixed-reality headset, known internally as Project Moohan and likely to reach the market as Galaxy XR. The company had previously promised to introduce the device by the end of 2025, and that target now looks increasingly attainable.

A headset with the model number SM-I610 has appeared in the official Bluetooth certification database. The filing confirms successful qualification and classifies the Galaxy XR as a head-mounted device, leaving little doubt about what it’s built for. Listings like this typically surface a few weeks before a public release, so a launch may be close.

Samsung isn’t yet sharing pricing or a timeline for global availability, even though the device has already been shown at several events this year. Rumors suggest Galaxy XR will debut in a limited run in South Korea, followed by a gradual rollout to other markets. Pricing is expected to exceed $2,000, a level that clearly positions the headset in the premium bracket.
