New details have surfaced online about Xiaomi's upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, which could stand out significantly from its competitors. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the company is preparing a smartphone that's compact by modern standards, with a screen diagonal of around 6.3 inches, yet packed with extremely powerful hardware and unusual features.
The device's main highlight is likely to be its camera system. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to feature not one but two 200-megapixel sensors—one for the main module and another for a periscope telephoto lens. This represents a major leap forward from the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which used 50-megapixel sensors. Such an upgrade could significantly enhance photo quality and zoom capabilities.
Equally impressive is the rumored battery life. The smartphone is said to house a battery with a capacity of around 7,000 mAh, which is highly unusual for a compact body. Despite this, the device is expected to retain support for wireless charging, water and dust protection meeting IP68/IP69 standards, and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Additionally, it's reported that Xiaomi might keep the secondary display on the back panel, even with the increased size of the cameras and battery. The processor is likely to be the new generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The official announcement of the Xiaomi 18 series is anticipated in autumn 2026, though these specifications remain preliminary.
