NVIDIA and Bolt announce robotaxi partnership for Europe

NVIDIA and Bolt have announced a strategic partnership at the GTC 2026 conference, focusing on the development of robotaxis in Europe. This collaboration promises to be mutually beneficial: Bolt will gain access to cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies, while NVIDIA will acquire valuable trip data.

The project's foundation is the creation of a training system for autonomous vehicles using real-world data from Bolt's fleet. To process and analyze this information, the company will utilize the NVIDIA Cosmos platform. For simulation, NVIDIA Omniverse will be employed to create digital replicas of real-world road scenarios.

Additionally, the NVIDIA Alpamayo model, specifically designed for autonomous transport, will be applied. This AI model will help adapt to the complex conditions of European roads. A key element will be the integration of the NVIDIA Drive Hyperion platform directly into Bolt's autonomous vehicles.

NVIDIA emphasizes that a comprehensive approach is necessary for advancing autonomous transport, one that unites AI, computational power, and sensor systems. Leveraging Bolt's real-world data alongside NVIDIA's ecosystem is expected to deliver safer and more efficient driving across Europe's diverse road infrastructure.

Bolt is already making significant strides toward an autonomous future. The company has previously announced collaborations with Pony.ai and Stellantis. While specific launch dates for the robotaxis have not been disclosed, both parties stress their adherence to GDPR standards and their commitment to sharing technologies with universities and businesses.
