Denon has unveiled the new DP-500BT turntable, which blends premium design, analog sound quality, and Bluetooth streaming capabilities—all for $899. This latest model addresses a key shortcoming of earlier units in the lineup: the lack of wireless connectivity, making it equally appealing to newcomers and seasoned audiophiles.
The DP-500BT features a belt-drive system, an S-shaped tonearm, and a cast aluminum platter. It comes with a pre-installed moving-magnet cartridge (CN-6518) and a built-in phono preamp that can be bypassed to connect an external amplifier or active speakers. A semi-automatic operation ensures smooth needle lift and stop, protecting records while simplifying the listening experience.
Styling draws inspiration from the DP-3000NE, though the DP-500BT presents a more refined look at a significantly lower price—$899 versus $2,799 for the higher-end model. This balance of style and functionality makes it an attractive option for vinyl collectors and sound-quality enthusiasts alike.
The standout feature is Bluetooth streaming support with aptX, aptX HD, and apt Adaptive protocols. The turntable is compatible with HEOS amplifiers and Denon Home speakers, enabling multi-room audio setups for wireless vinyl playback. The model is already available for purchase through Denon stores and authorized retailers.
