Xiaomi has unveiled the updated Xiaomi SU7 sedan for 2026, with a strong emphasis on handling and safety. The official model presentation is scheduled for March 19. While the exterior looks similar to the previous version, the technical changes are far more substantial. From the outset, it's clear the manufacturer aims not just to refresh the model but to elevate it to a new level among electric vehicles.
One of the key improvements is a new pneumatic suspension with a dual-chamber system and adaptive dampers. The car can now adjust stiffness based on driving conditions, allowing drivers to choose a comfortable mode for city driving or a firmer setting for dynamic performance. Brakes have also been upgraded—base versions now feature four-piston calipers, while the top trim gets components from Brembo.
Engineers have reworked the wheels and tires as well. Wider tires on the rear axle improve grip and stability at high speeds. Combined with updated aerodynamics, this makes the car noticeably more stable on the track. These changes are genuinely felt in real-world driving, not just listed as numbers in the specs.
Safety has become another priority. The body has been reinforced with a combination of steel and aluminum using high-strength materials, and the number of airbags has been increased to nine. The battery pack now has additional protection, featuring a reinforced beam and special coating that significantly reduces the risk of damage from external impacts.
Performance has also improved. The new V6 Plus electric motors deliver up to 690 horsepower, and the range extends to 902 km in the Pro version. Pricing remains competitive, starting from 229,900 to 309,900 yuan. With LiDAR and modern radar systems included, the updated SU7 makes a serious bid for leadership in its segment.
