Google is expanding its personal artificial intelligence capabilities in the US, integrating it into search, the Gemini app, and the Chrome browser. The new digital assistant, Gemini, replaces Google Assistant and provides personalized responses that draw on your data from Gmail, Google Photos, and other services. This makes tasks like planning trips, shopping, or picking out clothes easier—the system automatically suggests suitable options without requiring full context.
Gemini can set alarms, send messages, make calls, and transcribe conversations. By integrating with Google Photos and Gmail, the personal AI analyzes your past activities and purchases to recommend fitting solutions. For instance, during a layover at an airport, it might show restaurants that match your tastes or suggest what to do between flights.
The "Personal Intelligence" feature also helps you discover new hobbies and get advice based on your preferences. Google ensures privacy in this process: data from Gmail and Photos isn't used to train the model, and all recommendations are built on a limited set of information.
For users, this means quick access to relevant information, smart recommendations, and full control over app connections.
