PlayStation Network rebrand announced for 2026

Sony is planning a rebrand of PlayStation Network by September 2026. According to information sent to developers as part of the brand change preparation, the company intends to stop using the PSN and PlayStation Network names to reflect the expansion of its digital ecosystem.

The message emphasizes that moving away from the previous name fully reflects the scale of our evolving digital service. Importantly, these changes will affect only branding and will not impact platform functionality.

Sony specifically clarifies that the upcoming changes are purely visual and won't involve any technical modifications to their products. To simplify and unify branding, they'll phase out PlayStation Network and PSN terms across all SIE assets by September 2026. All features currently associated with PSN, including core network functions like friends, multiplayer, and trophies, will remain unchanged and available to players.

Developers have also been instructed to align their products and materials with the new requirements and remove PSN references from future releases and interfaces. Updates will be synchronized with platform technical standard changes. The new service name has not yet been revealed.
