Luna Glass night vision glasses for visual impairments

Luna Glass has become the world's first night vision glasses specifically designed for people with visual impairments. Pre-orders for the device are now open, with a waiting list limited to 500 units. According to preliminary information, shipments are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The glasses use augmented reality technology combined with semi-transparent and semi-reflective mirrors, along with optical waveguides, to project an enhanced image directly into the user's field of vision. This allows people with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and night blindness to see their surroundings more clearly even in low-light conditions.

Glaucoma causes damage to the optic nerve and impairs night vision, while macular degeneration reduces central vision sharpness. Luna Glass helps compensate for these issues, making evening walks safer and more comfortable by revealing details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The glasses are powered by a built-in battery that lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, though connecting to an external source via USB-C can extend usage time. This approach makes the device practical for everyday use, and the combination of AR and optical technologies opens new possibilities for visually impaired users.

Luna Glass demonstrates how modern technology can directly improve quality of life, offering people with vision limitations genuine independence and nighttime safety.
