Samsung Galaxy S26 will support Apple AirDrop for seamless file transfer

Samsung is preparing for a significant move that could shift the balance of power in the smartphone market. The company has confirmed that starting with the Galaxy S26 series, its devices will be able to interact directly with Apple's AirDrop feature, enabling wireless file transfer between Galaxy phones and iPhones.

According to Samsung's mobile division leadership, this new capability will be implemented through the proprietary Quick Share service and will arrive later as a software update. Users will be able to exchange photos, videos, and other files without needing to install additional apps—something that was previously a key advantage of the Apple ecosystem.

Experts point out that the convenience of data sharing has long kept users within the iPhone ecosystem. Now Samsung is effectively removing this barrier, making switching between platforms less painful. Google has already taken similar steps by adding iPhone compatibility to its Pixel devices.

At the same time, Samsung is strengthening its strategy to attract new users by emphasizing the ease of transitioning from iOS. The company believes that as youth interest shifts toward technology and AI rather than brand loyalty, such changes will help strengthen Galaxy's position in the global market.
