ASUS is preparing to launch an updated flagship gaming laptop, the ROG Strix Scar 18, and leaks are already revealing its key features. The new model will receive significant upgrades in both performance and display, positioning it as one of the most powerful solutions in its segment.
The main visual upgrade will be a new 18-inch screen with 4K resolution and Mini LED technology. The panel will maintain a high refresh rate of 240 Hz and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, which is particularly important for gaming and graphics work. The screen format will also remain more "vertical" at 16:10.
Inside, the laptop is expected to feature a top-tier configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor and a GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU. The system will also get more powerful cooling and a new 450 W power supply, which should allow the components to operate at their maximum potential without significant throttling.
The increased power comes at a cost to portability: the laptop has become heavier, indirectly confirming the enhanced cooling system. The official announcement is expected in the second quarter of 2026, though the price has not yet been revealed.
