RTX 5090 graphics card scam on Amazon leads to laundry detergent delivery

A major fraud case has occurred on Amazon: a customer ordered the flagship RTX 5090 graphics card but received a box of laundry detergent instead.

The story was shared by a Reddit user, who described what happened to his friend. The friend placed an order for the RTX 5090 Windforce OC with 32 GB of memory through Amazon's Fulfilled by Amazon service. However, upon opening the sealed box, they found a packet of Ghari detergent inside, along with signs of tampering—fake seals and a barcode.

The attempt to get a refund was unsuccessful. Despite having video evidence of the unboxing and a clear weight discrepancy (1.56 kg instead of the expected 2.5–3 kg for the graphics card), customer support denied the refund request after an investigation. This situation has sparked widespread attention, especially given the current shortage of powerful graphics accelerators. High demand and limited supply make these devices particularly attractive targets for scammers.

It is reported that the seller, Fab World Point, may have deceived multiple buyers—similar complaints have appeared in reviews on the platform. The order cost around $3,200, making the incident especially notable.

Social media users are urging affected customers to take legal action and publicly highlight the issue to secure refunds and draw attention to potential vulnerabilities in the platform.
