Sennheiser's consumer audio division is once again preparing for an ownership change. Sonova, which acquired the business in 2022, has announced plans to sell it, focusing instead on its core operations in hearing aid and medical solution development and production.
This decision stems from a strategic realignment, as Sonova aims to allocate resources to its key segments and exit the non-core consumer electronics market. The company has already begun searching for a new owner to continue developing the Sennheiser brand in the mass audio segment.
Representatives from the division note that this move aligns with their current development strategy and will not affect the product lineup. The company will keep producing premium headphones, audio systems, and other home user equipment, maintaining its focus on high-quality sound.
Until the deal closes, no changes are expected for customers: new device development, support for existing products, warranty service, and maintenance will continue as usual. This approach should make the transition to a new owner as seamless as possible for users.
