The first CAD renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 have surfaced online, offering a glimpse into Samsung's next foldable flagship. According to leaks, the company appears to be sticking with a familiar form factor rather than radically changing the device's external appearance. The smartphone is expected to launch in July 2026.
Images published by insider OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines reveal a design that closely mirrors the previous model. The device features flat edges, a hole-punch cutout for the front camera on the cover screen, and a vertically aligned triple-camera array on a prominent bump. At a glance, it will be difficult to distinguish the new model from the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The device's dimensions are also set to change only slightly. When unfolded, the smartphone measures 158.4×143.2×4.5 mm, and when folded, it comes in at 158.4×72.8×9 mm. This represents a minor departure from the previous generation, and in everyday use, users are unlikely to notice much difference.
The main improvements are expected to be under the hood. Samsung is reportedly working on a new main display construction using dual-layer ultra-thin glass, along with an enhanced hinge mechanism. This should boost screen durability and reduce the visibility of the crease—a longstanding issue for foldable phones. Screen diagonals are rumored to remain unchanged: around 8 inches for the inner display and 6.5 inches for the outer one.
There is also talk of a battery capacity increase to 5,000 mAh and support for 45W charging. This could be a significant upgrade, given that battery life has previously been considered a weak point for the Fold series. Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 shapes up as an evolutionary update: no dramatic design changes, but a clear focus on practicality and refining the user experience.
