Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has stated that the impact of artificial intelligence extends far beyond office work and is already affecting professions involving physical labor. He believes the transformation of the labor market will be comprehensive, and people across various fields need to prepare for it.
Huang emphasized that regardless of profession—whether farmer, electrician, or pharmacist—individuals must actively integrate AI into their work. He argues the key to success lies not just in avoiding replacement by technology but in using it as a tool for skill enhancement and empowerment.
As an example, he cited carpenters who, by mastering programming and AI skills, could move beyond their traditional roles and even participate in architectural design. In his view, such professionals would create significantly greater value for clients and secure higher positions in the industry.
On employment, the Nvidia head noted that automation will indeed lead to the disappearance of some jobs, but it will simultaneously create new ones. For professions where human involvement remains necessary, AI will become a crucial tool for boosting efficiency and productivity.
Against a backdrop of growing concerns about automation-driven layoffs, Huang urged people to acquire AI skills as soon as possible. He stressed that in the future, having such competencies could be a decisive factor in hiring, and university graduates should already aim to become AI specialists.
