DJI has officially entered the 360-degree drone market with the launch of its new Avata 360 model. This device marks the company's first FPV drone capable of capturing full 360-degree video, positioning it as a direct competitor to Insta360's Antigravity A1.
The standout feature is a 1-inch dual-camera system that can record video at up to 8K resolution and 60 frames per second, while also capturing photos with up to 120 megapixels. For dynamic scenes, a virtual gimbal enables unrestricted panoramic movement and tilting. The drone also includes ActiveTrack 360°, intelligent tracking, and automatic editing functions.
It comes equipped with the advanced O4+ video transmission system, offering a range of up to 20 kilometers, along with omnidirectional obstacle sensors and propeller guards. Flight time reaches up to 23 minutes, which is slightly less than its competitor but is offset by more advanced filming capabilities and 42GB of built-in storage.
The Avata 360 includes FPV goggles and controllers for an immersive flying experience, and it supports interchangeable lenses with a separate kit. Pricing for the base version starts at 459 euros, with extended kits including controllers and accessories going up to 939 euros. Shipments are set to begin on April 26.
