According to new leaks, Nintendo is gearing up for a packed gaming year. Key releases could include the return of the iconic Star Fox series and an updated version of one of gaming's most legendary titles: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Insider Nate the Hate reports that Nintendo plans to launch a new Star Fox installment this summer. The game is said to retain the series' classic mechanics while featuring modern graphics and possibly online multiplayer support. This would mark the franchise's first full-scale comeback in a decade, following Star Fox Zero.
A second major project could be a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, expected to release later this year during the holiday season. Reports indicate the project is timed for the Zelda series' 40th anniversary. The original game launched in 1998 on Nintendo 64, becoming the first title ever to receive a perfect score from Famitsu and one of the most critically acclaimed games in industry history.
Meanwhile, Nintendo's plans for other major franchises appear to be shifting. A rumored new 3D Mario project has reportedly been delayed and is now not expected until 2027 at the earliest. This suggests the company may be reallocating resources toward nearer-term releases.
If the information proves accurate, Nintendo would be doubling down on proven brands, blending nostalgia with modern technology to maintain audience interest during a transitional period for games and consoles.
