Android Auto users are experiencing an unusual glitch: the signal strength indicator disappears from their car's multimedia screen. According to device owners, this issue does not affect the actual network connection.
Reports of the bug are actively appearing on forums and social media. Users state that despite the missing icon, calls, mobile internet, and navigation continue to function normally. Thus, the problem is purely visual and related to the interface display.
Some drivers initially interpret the situation as a loss of connection, especially in areas with unstable coverage. However, checking their smartphones reveals that the network remains accessible, and Android Auto is simply displaying the information incorrectly.
It is suspected that the glitch might be linked to testing of an updated interface. Google has previously worked on changing icons in Android Auto to align them with the new Android 16 design. The disappearance of the indicator could be a side effect of these changes.
As of now, the company has not officially confirmed the existence of the issue. Nevertheless, if the signal icon is gone, there is no need for concern—in most cases, the connection continues to work.
