As Apple's iPhone approaches its 20th anniversary, rumors suggest the company is planning one of the most radical redesigns in the lineup's history. According to new leaks, the anniversary model could feature a completely overhauled exterior with a curved chassis and significantly thinner bezels around the display.
The bezels are expected to shrink to approximately 1.1 mm, making the screen appear even more edge-to-edge compared to current models. There's also talk of using convex glass that seamlessly blends into the device's body, creating a unified and nearly seamless design. This approach recalls early concepts of future smartphones where screen borders practically vanish.
Special attention is being paid to the front-facing camera and Face ID system. Apple is reportedly exploring under-display camera technology using Samsung's solutions, but image quality still doesn't meet the company's standards. As alternatives, Apple is considering a smaller Dynamic Island or transitioning to a compact display cutout with a new facial recognition system.
