Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 update now available for select devices

Xiaomi has begun rolling out its HyperOS 3.1 update globally, following its initial launch in China. The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in Europe were the first to receive the update, which has since expanded to include devices from the POCO and Redmi brands. Supported models currently include the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, POCO Pad, and Redmi Pad Pro. For now, the update is only available in Europe, with other regions expected to follow soon.

Based on Android 16, HyperOS 3.1 brings a range of system optimizations and interface improvements. Xiaomi has revamped several core system apps, boosting resource efficiency and overall device performance. This results in a more stable and user-friendly experience.

One standout addition is the HyperIsland feature, now available on tablets for the first time. On other devices, it has been updated with smoother animations, deeper integration with third-party apps, and more accurate real-time activity tracking.

The recent apps interface has been redesigned to resemble iOS, with enhanced gesture navigation, improved card management, and updated visuals. The update also introduces Super OTA, which speeds up installation, reduces errors, and minimizes the need for device reboots.

HyperOS 3.1 also improves compatibility with Apple devices by adding support for Apple AirPods. Users can enjoy quick pairing and spatial audio features on compatible headphones. To check for the update, go to the device settings, tap on "About phone," and then press the HyperOS logo.
