Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era launches in early access

The legendary Heroes of Might and Magic series is making a comeback after more than a decade-long hiatus. Ubisoft, in collaboration with Unfrozen Studio and publisher Hooded Horse, has announced that the new installment, titled Olden Era, will launch into early access on April 30, 2026. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, and will also be accessible to PC Game Pass subscribers from day one.

Developers are focusing on blending classic mechanics with modern solutions. Players can expect the traditional turn-based empire building, tactical combat, and RPG elements, but with the addition of new modes and expanded features for both solo and cooperative play. The action will unfold in a brand-new world, filled with mysteries, dangers, and diverse factions.

Olden Era will offer a wide range of content, from a story campaign and classic scenarios to a single-hero mode, an arena, and multiplayer battles. Players will be able to explore both procedurally generated and hand-crafted maps, build cities, and amass armies of fantastical creatures to conquer territories and battle foes.

Accessibility is a key focus, with the game receiving localization into numerous languages, including Russian. The early access phase will allow the developers to refine the project based on community feedback, meaning the final version could evolve significantly by the time of its full release.
