New details have emerged about the upcoming flagship models, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Rumors suggest they will continue developing the unconventional idea of a secondary screen on the back panel. Contrary to skeptics' expectations, the company has not abandoned this feature and, in fact, plans to expand its capabilities.
The rear display is reported to gain an "intelligent window" function powered by artificial intelligence. While the exact use cases Xiaomi will offer remain unknown, this points to deeper AI integration—likely for notifications, function control, and quick access to information without turning on the main screen.
Beyond this, Xiaomi is focusing on details that impact the user experience. The new models will feature improved speakers and a vibration motor, which should enhance audio quality and tactile feedback. Although precise specifications haven't been revealed yet, such refinements are typically noticeable in everyday use.
The devices are expected to be equipped with the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor and powerful cameras. Preliminary information indicates the Xiaomi 18 Pro may offer a screen around 6.3 inches, a battery with a capacity of at least 7,000 mAh, and two 200-megapixel sensors. The higher-end Pro Max version will likely feature a larger display with similar specifications, and an official announcement is anticipated in September.
