Vastarmor, recognized for its Radeon graphics cards, has unveiled its first external GPU enclosure, the VST3D01. Designed for high-performance builds, this enclosure accommodates graphics cards up to three slots thick, including those with large cooling solutions. It is especially aimed at current Vastarmor GPU owners who want a branded eGPU option.
The VST3D01 connects via USB Type-C, supporting both Thunderbolt 3 and USB4, delivering up to 40 Gbps over PCIe 3.0×4. While it uses a PCIe x16 connector inside, only four lanes are active externally, meaning it offers less raw bandwidth than Thunderbolt 5 or OCuLink alternatives but remains a more affordable choice. Inside, there is space for a power supply and a built-in USB hub with additional ports.
Measuring 384 × 183 × 193 mm, the enclosure is made of aluminum and ABS plastic, finished in grey. Connection options include one USB-C Thunderbolt 3/USB4 port, a second USB-C Thunderbolt 3 or USB4 passthrough port, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, and PCIe x16. It supports Windows 7, 10, 11, and Linux.
According to Vastarmor, the VST3D01 is compatible with all Radeon RX 9000 and RX 7000 series GPUs. Pricing has not been announced, and sales have yet to begin, but with its capacity, modern interface support, and room for powerful cards, the enclosure is likely to attract enthusiasts seeking a spacious and capable eGPU solution.
