Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone: launch date and full specifications

The Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone is back in the spotlight following new leaks about its launch timeline and key specifications. According to insider Kartikey Singh, the device could be unveiled in China in May 2026, positioning it as the final model in the Xiaomi 17 series, which already includes the base 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra.

Preliminary information suggests the 17 Max will feature a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, supported by an 8,000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

Camera capabilities are a particular focus. The main module is expected to include a 200MP sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The front camera is anticipated to be 50MP, making this device a strong competitor to Pro Max versions. Other specifications include up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, a linear vibration motor, and stereo speakers. The smartphone will run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

While earlier rumors pointed to an April launch, the latest information indicates May 2026. The release date for other countries remains unknown, but interest in this flagship is already very high.
