According to new reports, Apple does not plan to delay the launch of its first foldable smartphone. Despite recent rumors of potential issues during testing, reliable insider Mark Gurman states that development of the iPhone Fold is proceeding on schedule.
Sources familiar with the project indicate the device could be unveiled as early as September, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. This move would position the foldable iPhone as one of Apple's key product releases of the year, highlighting its importance to the company.
Sales are expected to begin shortly after the announcement, possibly concurrent with the flagship lineup. However, initial availability of the device may be limited. This is attributed to the complexity of manufacturing the flexible display and other components, including a hinge reportedly made using 3D printing.
Gurman also notes that final timing could still change, as several months remain before launch and mass production has not yet begun. Nevertheless, current information suggests Apple is confidently moving toward the debut of its foldable device.
