Shanling has launched pre-orders for its new all-in-one streamer-player, the SM1.3R, which combines network player and DAC functions. The device features the proprietary Kunlun Pro R2R decoding architecture and targets discerning audiophiles, priced at 8,998 yuan or approximately $1,300.
A key highlight is the separate power supply system, incorporating two 31W toroidal transformers to independently power the analog and digital sections. This design aims to reduce interference and enhance audio purity. The company's AGLO technology is also used, ensuring lossless global audio output in the Android environment.
For high-resolution audio, the SM1.3R uses a USB chip from XMOS XU316, supporting playback up to PCM 768 kHz/32-bit and DSD512. The analog section relies on MUSES8920 and TPA6120 operational amplifiers, promising high-quality sound output.
Hardware is built around a Rockchip RK3568 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It runs Android 12 with a customized interface optimized for audio, and includes remote control via smartphone.
The player supports popular music services like Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, QQ Music, and NetEase Cloud Music. Network features include DLNA, AirPlay 2, NAS access, cloud file playback, and Samba protocol. Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Additional features include a 5.8-inch touchscreen with 1080p resolution, video streaming capability, and Hi-Res Audio certification. Pre-orders are now open, with deliveries expected soon.
