Bigme has launched the HiBreak Plus, an unusual smartphone featuring a color E-Ink display. The device is now available on the Chinese platform JD.com for 1,999 yuan, targeting users who prioritize eye comfort and battery life.
The phone's standout feature is its 6.13-inch screen with a 300 PPI density, built using electronic ink technology. Unlike most similar solutions, this display supports a higher refresh rate of up to 52 frames per second and includes an automatic residual image elimination system, resulting in a smoother interface.
The smartphone also supports stylus input, though the stylus must be purchased separately. On the front panel, there's a 5-megapixel camera, while the rear houses a main 20 MP module. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an infrared port for controlling appliances.
Inside, the device is powered by a MediaTek MTK6765 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It runs on Android 14 and supports 4G networks, with a 4,500 mAh battery handling power needs.
Overall, the HiBreak Plus offers a unique balance between smartphone capabilities and the benefits of E-Ink displays, focusing on reading, text work, and reduced eye strain.
