DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera leaks with 4K at 240fps

DJI is set to unveil the new Osmo Pocket 4 camera on April 16, but key specifications have already leaked ahead of schedule. An image of the packaging has surfaced online, confirming one of the device's main features: support for 4K video recording at 240 frames per second.

This capability elevates the compact camera to a new level, particularly in the portable solutions segment for bloggers and content creators. For comparison, the previous Osmo Pocket 3 model was limited to 4K/120fps, and even many modern smartphones, including the iPhone 17 Pro, don't offer higher frame rates at that resolution.

In practice, DJI is making a serious play for the professional video market by offering features previously only available on expensive cinema cameras costing tens of thousands of dollars. Yet the device remains compact and convenient for everyday use.

Despite this, the new model still falls short of full-fledged cameras with larger sensors. The 1-inch sensor used won't fully compete with full-frame solutions from Sony or Canon, especially in challenging shooting conditions, though it looks extremely impressive for slow-motion video.

Overall, the Osmo Pocket 4 is expected to maintain a relatively affordable price—around $500—making it one of the most compelling offerings in the compact camera market.
