Huawei has officially revealed the design of the Pura X Max ahead of its full presentation scheduled for April 20. While details are still partially under wraps, it's clear the company is betting on a new foldable format with a larger, more user-friendly display.
The model's key feature is its unconventional horizontal folding mechanism. When unfolded, the device transforms into a compact tablet with a screen around 7.6 to 7.69 inches and a 16:10 aspect ratio. This format makes the smartphone more convenient for watching videos, using apps, and multitasking.
An external display, roughly 5.5 inches in size, allows for basic tasks without opening the device. The design is complemented by flat edges, neat cutouts for front cameras, and a horizontal main camera module with multiple sensors on the back panel.
According to preliminary information, the smartphone will run on the Kirin 9030 processor. It will be available in several memory configurations, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Five color options have been confirmed: black, white, blue, gold, and orange.
Huawei has already opened pre-orders for the new device, with the full announcement set to coincide with the Pura 90 series. The Pura X Max is expected to be one of the most distinctive models among foldable smartphones in 2026.
