It appears Xiaomi is already hard at work on HyperOS 4, even though the system hasn't been officially announced yet. Nevertheless, leaks have begun surfacing online, suggesting the next version of the interface won't just be an update but a significant leap forward with noticeable visual changes.
According to Chinese insider Smart Pikachu, HyperOS 4 will feature a substantially redesigned user interface. While details remain scarce, it's believed Xiaomi might ditch some familiar design elements in favor of a more modern and cohesive visual style.
Special attention is being paid to the possible integration of a Leica color palette. This refers to the signature aesthetic previously used mainly in device cameras, but which could now be embedded throughout the entire system interface. This move is expected to give HyperOS a more premium and contrast-rich appearance.
Beyond visual tweaks, insiders note that Xiaomi is also working on a deep technical overhaul of the system. Industry sources indicate the company is gradually shedding its MIUI legacy, and system applications may be rewritten using the Rust programming language to enhance stability and security.
HyperOS 4 is anticipated to debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 series in the third quarter of 2026, with the first beta versions potentially arriving as early as August. However, all current information is based on leaks and remains unconfirmed by the company.
