Huawei is set to unveil its Pura 90 series on April 20, with the Pura 90 Pro Max positioned as the flagship model. This time around, the company has opted to skip an Ultra version, focusing instead on maximizing the capabilities of the Pro Max, particularly in the camera department.
The headline feature is a 200-megapixel telephoto lens—a first for Huawei's top-tier smartphones. According to the company, this camera is designed to perform equally well for both close-up shots and at high levels of zoom. Huawei also claims support for video recording using 20x zoom, highlighting significant optimization work on this function.
Additionally, Huawei has introduced an AI-powered pose suggestion feature. The system analyzes typical shooting scenarios and offers alternative poses, helping users capture more varied and successful photos.
Preliminary information suggests the smartphone will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with a large 1-inch sensor and a variable aperture. It will also utilize the second-generation Red Maple Image technology, aimed at delivering more accurate color reproduction, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
The device is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chip and run HarmonyOS 6.1. It will launch in several color options, including black, gold, and gradient finishes, with memory configurations offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
