Xiaomi has quietly added two new models to its official website: the REDMI R70 5G and REDMI R70m 5G. Both devices are marked as "coming soon," but their key specifications and positioning have already been revealed.
Targeting the affordable segment, these smartphones share similar features. They come with a large 6.9-inch display that offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and 720p+ resolution, making them suitable for everyday tasks like video streaming and messaging.
Under the hood, both models are powered by the Unisoc T8300 chipset, built on a 6nm process, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. This setup delivers performance typical of budget devices, focusing on stable operation and accessibility rather than raw power.
The main difference lies in the battery capacity. The REDMI R70 packs a 6,000 mAh battery, while the R70m version steps up to an even larger 6,300 mAh unit. Both support charging up to 15W. Camera capabilities are basic, with an 8 MP front camera and a 13 MP main module.
Available in several colors, including white, black, and shades of blue and purple, these smartphones run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Memory configurations range from 4 GB to 12 GB of RAM. Overall, they represent typical budget 5G smartphones, emphasizing battery life and a large screen without extra frills.
