DJI has officially unveiled the new compact Osmo Pocket 4 camera, which brings noticeable improvements over the previous generation. While retaining the pocket-sized gimbal form factor, the device now targets more professional use thanks to upgraded internals and expanded shooting capabilities.

The key upgrade is a 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, delivering up to 14 stops of dynamic range. The camera supports recording in the 10-bit D-Log profile, offering greater flexibility for color grading and video post-processing. The Osmo Pocket 4 also gains support for 4K slow-motion at 240 frames per second. Audio performance has been enhanced too, with spatial recording, directional audio capture during zoom, and the ability to connect DJI-branded microphones supporting up to four recording channels—a feature particularly useful for interviews and complex shoots.

The object tracking system has been updated to Intelligent Follow 7.0, which works even at 4x zoom. New functions include object lock and priority tracking, and some controls can be managed via gestures without touching the screen. For portrait shooting, the camera features improved skin-tone algorithms and built-in beauty filters.

Pre-orders for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 are now open, with deliveries starting on April 22. The base Essential Combo version, which includes the camera, a USB-C cable, a 1/4-inch threaded handle, and a case, is priced at £429 or from €479. The Standard Combo adds a stabilizer mount, a strap, and accessories for £445 or from €499. The top-tier Creator Combo, which comes with a wide-angle lens, a DJI Mic 3 microphone, windshields, a light, a mini tripod, and a bag, costs £549 or from €619.
