Forza Horizon 6 pre-orders hit record high with 511k Steam sales

Microsoft and Playground Games have reason to celebrate Forza Horizon 6's success well before its release. A month ahead of launch, the game is showing impressive pre-order figures, particularly on Steam. According to Alinea Analytics estimates, the racing title has already moved over 511,000 copies on Steam alone, generating more than $28 million in revenue. This makes Forza Horizon 6 the most successful entry in the series in terms of pre-orders, with interest continuing to climb.

An active marketing campaign has contributed to this success. Sales spikes coincided with the release of the first gameplay previews and the unveiling of the achievement list. Players have responded positively to the removal of the Eliminator mode and the return of familiar features like Wristbands, along with the addition of Japan-themed content.

In practice, this means high expectations are in place, as over 3.3 million users have already added the game to their wishlists. Analysts predict that sales on Steam could surpass 2 million copies within the first 24 hours after release.

Forza Horizon 6 is set to launch on May 19, and current metrics suggest the project is poised to become one of the biggest racing game launches in recent years.
