Samsung has officially discontinued sales of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. The limited-edition foldable smartphone has sold out completely, with no further shipments expected. The device is currently unavailable in both the United States and South Korea.
The model first launched in South Korea in extremely limited quantities and quickly disappeared from shelves. Later, small batches reached the U.S. market, but availability remained minimal. The final shipment, recorded on April 10, sold out quickly, after which the device essentially vanished from the global market.
From the start, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold was never intended as a mass-market product. The smartphone served as an experimental model, showcasing the company's capabilities in foldable technology. Its key feature was a triple-fold design with two hinges, which made the device unique but also limited its appeal.
Despite the device's short lifecycle, Samsung reportedly hasn't abandoned the concept. The company is said to be working on a next-generation model, tentatively called the Galaxy Z TriFold 2, which could feature a thinner and lighter chassis while addressing the shortcomings of the first version.
Overall, the Galaxy Z TriFold represents a brief but significant step in the evolution of foldable smartphones, highlighting the direction future Samsung devices might take.
