Huawei has officially unveiled its complete Pura 90 smartphone lineup, consisting of a base model along with Pro and Pro Max versions. The new devices focus on camera capabilities, battery life, and proprietary AI features.
The standard Pura 90 stands out with an unusual asymmetrical camera module and a large 6.8-inch display featuring a pill-shaped cutout. Despite its positioning, the model comes equipped with an advanced camera setup: a 50MP main sensor with RYYB technology, a 12.5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.7x optical zoom. The smartphone also includes a 50MP front-facing camera.
One of the key features is a 6,500 mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging—even more than the higher-end Pro Max version. The body remains slim at approximately 7mm. The device runs on the Kirin 9010S chip, delivering a performance improvement of around 15% compared to the previous generation.
The higher-end Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max models emphasize even more advanced cameras. The Pro Max version features a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture and enhanced dynamic range, along with a 200MP periscope module providing 4x optical zoom and 8x "optical quality" zoom. Huawei claims significant gains in light sensitivity and detail.
Both Pro versions run on the more powerful Kirin 9030S chip and offer expanded AI functions, ranging from portrait enhancement to intelligent photo and video processing. They also utilize the Red Maple color reproduction system and AI-powered shooting tools.
In terms of design, the Pro Max features a two-tone body with an emphasis on premium materials, along with Kunlun protective glass for increased durability. Microphone performance has been improved as well, with voice transmission reportedly effective at distances of up to 10 meters. All models in the series run on HarmonyOS 6.1 with an updated Xiaoyi assistant and enhanced interaction capabilities.
The base Pura 90 starts at 4,699 yuan, while the Pura 90 Pro begins at 5,499 yuan, and the top-tier Pro Max starts at 6,499 yuan. Higher configurations can reach up to 8,499 yuan depending on storage capacity.
