WhatsApp has started testing a new paid subscription service called Plus, which adds enhanced personalization features to the messaging app. This innovation targets active users by offering additional functions without affecting the app's core capabilities, which remain free.

Key new features include exclusive animated sticker packs, new color themes for the interface, and alternative app icons. Subscribers will also be able to pin up to 20 chats instead of the standard three and apply notification and appearance settings across all conversations at once.

The subscription includes additional ringtones and advanced customization tools, making the app more flexible to use. Importantly, premium stickers sent by subscribers will still be visible to users without the subscription, maintaining compatibility across the platform.

While the official pricing hasn't been announced yet, the test version shows a cost of around €2.49 per month. The feature is currently available to a limited number of Android users in the beta version, with a broader rollout expected soon, including support for iOS.
