Vivo X Fold 6 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 5: What We Know So Far

The foldable smartphone market continues to evolve rapidly, and two notable new devices are set to join the fray soon: the vivo X Fold 6 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. According to insider sources, both handsets are in the final stages of development and could be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Leaks suggest the vivo X Fold 6 will focus on battery life. It is rumored to pack a roughly 7,000 mAh cell, one of the largest ever seen in a foldable, while still maintaining a slim and lightweight design. The device is also expected to feature a 200-megapixel main camera and a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, positioning it as a serious contender among top-tier models.

As for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, the emphasis appears to be on an in-house processor. Rumors indicate the phone will be powered by Xiaomi's own new Xring O3 chip. It remains unclear how much of an improvement this will be over the previous generation, but it could mark an important step toward reducing reliance on third-party solutions.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has yet to confirm the final name for the device—it could launch as the Mix Fold 5 or the Xiaomi 17 Fold. Preliminary reports point to a release in the third quarter, possibly as early as July.

Overall, vivo and Xiaomi are gearing up to offer strong competition in the foldable segment, which already features models from other major brands. The coming months could bring a new wave of rivalry to this market.
