Xiaomi has officially kicked off its teaser campaign for the new Xiaomi 17 Max, confirming the phone will launch this month. The company also released the first images and revealed some key features of the upcoming flagship.
Based on the published materials, the Xiaomi 17 Max targets users who want a large display, long battery life, and improved camera capabilities. It will feature a 6.9-inch flat screen with thin bezels, drawing design cues from the Xiaomi 15 series. Some versions may use premium materials such as ceramic or a carbon-fiber finish.
The company has confirmed three color options: black, blue, and white. Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi’s mobile division, described the model as a fully improved version of the standard Xiaomi 17, rather than just a larger variant.
According to early information, the phone will have an LTPO display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to include symmetrical stereo speakers, improved water resistance, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. One of the main highlights could be an 8,000 mAh battery—the largest ever in a Xiaomi smartphone. The device is expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Significant camera upgrades are also on the way. Rumors point to a 200-megapixel main sensor from Samsung’s ISOCELL HP series, paired with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope module with 3x optical zoom. The collaboration with Leica for image processing is expected to continue. The phone might use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
If these leaks prove accurate, the Xiaomi 17 Max could become one of the most powerful and long-lasting Android flagships the company has released in recent years.
