DJI has officially unveiled the Osmo Pocket 4P, a new Pro version of its compact camera aimed at vloggers and content creators. The announcement took place at the Cannes Film Festival, where the company described the device as the beginning of a new era of cinematic quality for handheld stabilized cameras. However, DJI has not yet revealed pricing, release dates, or when sales will start.

The key upgrade over the standard Osmo Pocket 4 is a dual-camera system. Leaks suggest the additional module is a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 70mm equivalent focal length. The main camera is expected to retain a 1-inch sensor, while the telephoto module may use a smaller 1/1.5-inch sensor.

DJI promises a new imaging system for the Pocket 4P, along with support for 10-bit D-Log2 and improved stabilization. The camera is also rumored to record 4K video at up to 240 fps, feature a 2-inch touchscreen, and include an upgraded ActiveTrack 7.0 for tracking faces, vehicles, and animals. It is said to be compatible with a wide range of accessories, including a new grip and an optional fill light.

Against the backdrop of US restrictions, earlier rumors suggested that the Pocket 4 and 4P might be sold there under the Xtra brand as the Muse 2 and Muse 2 Pro. The standard Osmo Pocket 4 starts at £429 or €479, so the 4P version with the extra camera will likely cost more. Preliminary reports indicate sales could begin this summer, but there is no official confirmation yet.
