Google has rolled out a new Quick Share feature that lets Android users transfer files to iPhones using a QR code. It's a convenient alternative for devices that lack direct Quick Share to AirDrop compatibility. The process is straightforward: the Android user selects files to send, and the system generates a QR code. The iPhone owner scans it with the standard Camera app and can then download the transferred materials.

Google explains that files are securely uploaded to the cloud and shared via a private link. The data is protected by end-to-end encryption, and recipients can download files within 24 hours. The generated link, according to the company, is not intended for forwarding to others.

The feature was announced during The Android Show: I/O Edition. Google confirmed that QR-code-based file sharing from Android to iOS will be available to all users by the end of June.
